I'm 44, active and have had my device for two years. I love it as I can run again and enjoy working out without feeling like I'm an old man.

Call the manufacturer and find out how deep yours is rated. They can tell you exactly how far down you can go without having problems. My St Judes is ok to 7 atm which is 198' in salt water, more than enough for recreational diving.
Are you certified? I would suggest take the class at home and get certified first rather than jumping in (no pun intended) on vacation. Places on vacation, depending where you go, can be questionable with safety for newbies, and you'll want to test it out and make sure you feel ok.
Pacemaker or not, always get diving insurance when you go diving. It's cheap. Be super careful about rules for flying and diving, you shouldn't fly for so many hours after diving (I forget how many). If you end up in a compression chamber, health insurance won't cover it. My sister is an avid diver and does a lot of dive trips as well as weekly dives here (we live by the ocean). She has tried for years to talk me into trying it. The closest I got so far was calling SJM to ask about depth :)
