I tried to answer the question about pacemakers and polygraphs but couldn't find any mention of the two anywhere in the same sentence. BUT I did find info about a company which sells a "Shocking Lie Detector" which you can take to parties to amaze and amuse your friends by exposing them as liars. It requires 3 AAA batteries. Your victim (and soon to be former friend) straps his hand down on this dome shaped contraption and you ask a question. No fair asking something he can answer truthfully. 5 built-in sensors detect the increased heart rate which indicates a lie and deliver---you guessed it---a shock. I'm not gonna tell where you can order this fun item for only $37.31 U.S. These geniuses also make Shock Ball, Shokolate Vault (keep it on your desk at work to prevent coworkers from swiping your chocolate), Shocking Battle Tanks to delight the kiddos, and Electric Shock Roulette, billed as "Russian roulette without the fatalities." There is, amazingly enough, a disclaimer that states not for children, epileptics or people with pacemakers. Take that baby to a party and there might be fatalities--your own! My rant for today. Hi Friends - Along those same lines: I joined Curves a couple of weeks ago and during my first visit the woman filling out all the papers also did weight, measurements, etc. All the usual. Then she had a little handheld machine to measure body fat. I had told her right up front I had a pacemaker and took a beta-blocker when she talked about increasing HR. Anyway, back to the little machine: I asked her if it was safe to use it with a pacemaker on board. She said she didn't know why not. I could see extensive labels on it so asked her to read them. Sure enough it was very specific: NOT FOR USE by ANYONE WITH A PACEMAKER. We cannot be too careful because there are far too many people out there like this woman. Next time I was in I talked to the owner about it and suggested they do some education and training of their staff!
