Update on Me & Love to All of You

Hi everybody. All went well on Tuesday and I now have a St. Jude 5386 upgrade in my chest, supposedly the top of the line. We were surprised to find that I have no underlying rhythm on my own, so No. 5386 had better be taking care of business. I had to stay overnight due to "complications." Not to be too graphic, but this involved supper not staying where supper belongs. My daughter in law should be nominated for sainthood! Abbey refused to eat while I was gone, so her first order of business was to gobble up her breakfast, then check out my ouchie, not the BIG one on my chest but the one in the bend of my arm where the IV was. She allowed me one short nap, then woke me so we could play bunny, hedgehog, and squeaky chicken. That's what I need, basenji play therapy! I may have to go back to the hospital to get some rest....Lenora

Lenora,
So glad to hear that things went ok. You are still in my prayers. Get your rest and take care of yourself. May God Bless you with a quick recovery. Keep us updated.

Hi Lenora,
God is so good! Now we can all rest a bit easier knowing you are back and doing okay. What a surprise to find you had no normal rhythm! Hopefully your new unit will not give you a moments trouble and you truly will feel like a new person. It is wonderful that you have your Abbey and her unconditional love to support you. Our lives are so much richer because of these 4-legged angels with tails.** I absolutely love Valerie's poem for you; isn't she quite the talented young lady? Keep us informed as you recover, take it easy and remember I am still praying for you. In fact, today is Friday - the day I really focus on all the club members in my prayers. I ask God's blessings to continue to pour out to you.
Sharon
** We are looking at dogs to adopt. Our house and our hearts are so empty since we lost Charlie. This weekend we will see 3 young male Poodles!

Welcome back!

Here’s your poem (as promised):

Roses are red,
Violets are blue…
Well, no, actually my roses are yellow, but they’re turning brown b/c I’m not taking good care of them. Oh, sorry, off track. haha, just kidding; not your real poem.

But this is:

So good to have you back here with us Lenora!
Take all your meds, but be careful; don’t wipe out your normal flora.

You have no idea how many people admire you.
Neither do I, but I bet it’s over a zillion and two.

It’s hard to find someone that we can trust and is kind,
But you’re the exception; you give us peace of mind.

You’re very knowledgeable, it’s like we have our own encyclopedia.
It’s so wonderful; I think I’ll alert the media.

In conclusion, let me just say…
That many of us on here thank God we have gotten to know you day by day.

Happy Recovery!
Take care,
~valerie
p.s. please keep us updated on how you’re doing.

I love it!

Valerie, you're the best!! I'd write you one back but the creative juices just aren't flowing right now. I'm currently involved in a massive campaign consuming all my waking hours to eradicate this EKG icky sticky stuff off my body. None of the usual remedies I recommend to my patients has worked--alcohol, hair spray, olive oil, Oil of Olay, or apple cider vinegar, nothing. My mother has suggested kerosene, pressure washing, and do-it-yourself dermabrasion with a brillo pad and industrial strength Zud (okay, she's 84 but now you know where my sense of humor comes from). Next up: plastic surgery. I want this stuff off of me!!! Lenora

Good Idea

by lenora - 2007-03-30 06:03:43

I didn't think of that one, Sharon. Saw on a pet forum an owner tried this on her dog who got hold of one of those sticky boxes you use for mice and PB got the glue off his paws. Thanks for the idea. Lenora

Peanut Butter

by auntiesamm - 2007-03-30 06:03:44

Lenora - Have you tried peanut butter? I have used it in years past to remove gum from my kids/grandkids hair & for some unknown sticky substance in my dogs' hair from time- to- time It also works to remove stubborn labels off jars/bottles. No kidding!
Good Luck! Sharon

I remeber

by Suze - 2007-03-30 07:03:23

So glad you are on the mend. You always sound so positive abd upbeat!

I remember that awful sticky stuff. It was impossible to get off. I wish I had heard of the peanutbutter solution back then. Let us know if it works!

Take it easy and yes, please keep us updated.

Take care-----

Speedy Recovery.

Lenora,

Sometimes during a set back, it gives strength and comfort to know how important we are to others.
So, this little reminder is for you to tuck away, and look at once in a while, so that you always know how much you mean, and how much you matter, not just during this time, but every day.
You are appreciated, and valued, just for the special person you are.
Hoping each day finds you feeling better.

~ Dominique ~

congrats!

Hi Lenora, I'm so glad you are ok, and wow! You did get the 5386! That's what I got after my other one pooped out. I can tell you, it's a good model. I have noticed a big difference in this one! You know you should take it easy and be kind to yourself. Have a wonderful day! Bambi
