I cycle to and from work. Do you think I will be safe to start cyling again 14 days after my operation ? Its a fairly short distance , just a bit paranoid of the leads not being secure enough and working there way loose :-/

The leads are not going to come loose from riding a bike. If you fall, that's more of a risk, but just riding should not be a problem. I was out walking within 5 days, riding my bike and doing aerobics (with no arms) and treadmill within two weeks.

But just take it easy. I forgot about it until your question, but I was on my exercise bike the day after the implant in 2004. Riding a bike doesn't extend your arms above shoulder level, and there is nothing about getting your aerobic level up a bit that's going to cause problems
If you haven't had you first checkup yet you might run into the Upper Tracking Limit problem if you push your HR above 120.

Woof,..keep your gearing low to prevent any heaving on the handlebars. Avoid climbing any hill..especially riding 'out of the saddle' ..Also dismount carefully to avoid any arm pulling,.. especially if you are left-handed and dismount to the right---your left hand will be at full extension
Enjoy the bike !!

PS.. get someone else to pump up your tyres..it wont affect your PM...but any excuse to get some other sucker to do your dirty work is well worth taking advantage of !!
Thank You

Thanks for your comments , I am using the exercise bike at home currently to get back into it, but obviously thats steady , no bumpy roads etc . . . I am at the docs Wednesday for dressing removal and check up so will mention it then as suggested, just to be safe.

I have had a pacemaker for several years and I ride a mountain bike and a road bike. Never had a problem. Last year 9/7/2011 I was hit from behind by a car while riding my bike. I was wearing a helmet and still cracked my skull. Multiple broken ribs and so on. I was in a coma for 10 days. Never had a problem with my pacemaker.

My ICD/pacer is not a burden. I still play tennis and golf.
Safe?

I would say as long as you don't fall. That would be the only risk I could think of as far as the leads.. If I am not mistaken, you mentioned fainting in another post... that is something you should ask your EP about. It should be cured with the pacer, but better safe than sorry.
