Can anyone tell me if using a hedge trimmer is likely to affect the leads on my pace maker.

Smitty is right about trimmers not imterfering with your device, but if your device was implanted within the last six weeks I would avoid using a trimmer. You do not want to raise your arms above your head as this may dislodge a lead from your heart.

PM & Hedge Trimmer

Hi Martyn,
Neither electric or gas powered hedge trimmer is likely to harm your PM. To be certain of no harm keep the motor on the device 4 or 6 inches from your PM. Of course the very best thing to do is to rope someone else into doing the hedge trimming.
Have fun,
