Fluttering after pacemaker implanted

I'm 32 years old and had a pacemaker implanted 2 days ago due to symptomatic bradycardia and secondary av block with Mobitz type 2. After the pacemaker was implanted I would get a small fluttering in my chest every now and then. I just wanted to know if it is normal to get the fluttering after the implant. Other than The occasional fluttering I feel great. I have minor pain near the incision that I control with Tylenol.

Fluttering

I got my PM in April at age 64 & experienced significant fluttering & palpitations in May. My cardiologist has increased my Metoprolol to 25 mgs 4 times a day & the fluttering seems to have decreased.

I have also been using a chelated magnesium supplement everyday & as well as making sure vegetables, fruit, spirulina, etc., are part of my daily diet as a mineral deficiency could possibly be a factor.

I was diagnosed w/Mobitz 2 also,got my PM beginning of July,had internal feelings of maybe a flutter,pinching just odd stuff.Went into ER,had interrogation done,and a local Cardio had tech change settings,and the feelings went away,and I felt better,normal.Just me though.
I agree your body does adjust to this whole thing,up to you to decide if the flutter will go away after time or not,I really dont know,still new to this......

Is the fluttering usually at the same times?

I'm 34 and I've had a pm for over 10 years. When I first got my pm I got a fluttering feeling. I asked my pm technicians and they found it was when the device was going into 'power saving' mode (it was awhile ago so I can't remember the technical term sorry). They turned it off and the occasional fluttering stopped.

I also felt a more sever fluttering after my pacemaker box change, they found this was because my pm was over sensing and I could actually feel the electrical pulses. They lowered the current and it went away.

It can take a while to tune your pm to suit your body, don't be afraid to ask your pm clinic questions, and let them now if something doesn't feel right. There are so many little changes they can make to suit you and they are always really really helpful! But it give it time to settle in... as previous people say, it takes time for your body to get use to it. But soon you'll forget its there!

While I was at work on monday I had an attack that was the same as before the pacemaker. I had a fluttering in my chest then i was dizzy, my heart rate was 110, and i was confused or dazed. So I ended up going visit my cardiologist because today i had constant fluttering. What he told me is that with the Sick Sinus Syndrome I have both tachycardia and bradycardia. He said that he could not treat the Tachycardia (fast heart rate) with out first fixing the bradycardia (slow heart rate). He stated that in order to medicate the tachycardia I needed the pacemaker to control the symptomatic bradycardia. He prescribed me a beta blocker which I start taking in the morning. Guess I will post later to say how that ends up.

So after the doctor put me on meds I continued having the fluttering in my chest. I was given a halter monitor until my next appt. The funny this is it only happened when I would stand up to walk or ride in a car. So I go back to the cardiologist and get my staples removed and he gives me the results of my halter. Basically my heart was all over the place during the fluttering. He called in the pacemaker tech. To check my settings. He hooked me up and within 2 mins fixed the fluttering problem. I was amazed at how easily they could fix it. The tech explained everything better than my cardiologist has ever explained anything to me. My advise is to not give up and become frustrated right after the surgery. Just be patient, things will work out.

Received my PM Jan 18 2013 first day aft surgery Fluttering now little less feel slight pains but nothing resulting in a ER visit. Need to get to the gym nothing since Dec 6 2012. Good to hear all fluttering comments thanks to all you PM family members.
