Don't push your luck. There comes a point in our lives when we have to respect what mother nature commands. Try substituting another passion.

Depends on how you feel

You will find on here posts from :-

- runners who carry on as before , running marathons and triathlons. Some claim no fall off in performance after having an implant.

- runners who carry on but are frustrated that their performance and stamina is reduced . I'm in this category

- runners who decide to hang up their running shoes for good and take up other activities

I think the " Don't push your luck" advice in the last post is too negative; give it a go and see what happens. If it is really hard it is too easy to blame the PM ; as you know if you lose your running fitness the first few runs can be slightly demoralising.

Best of luck

Ian

Hi WIRunner49,

I'm with IAN MC, listen to your body, it you've been a lifetime runner, I can't think of a reason why you'd have to hang up your running shoes.

I went back to my regular schedule 3 weeks after.

Don't give up so quickly!
