Just got my pacemaker 2 weeks ago. Took a bit to get it adjusted right but all is well now. My Doc said I could return to all activities in 4 weeks. I'm using my stationary bike for now, 40 minutes the last 2 nights. And when I exercise I exercise hard. SOme one mentioned the bouncing of mountain biking. I asked my Doc about jet skiing, which has a lot of bouncing, and he said it would be fine after recovery. I also coach 2 soccer teams and play golf and tennis. The Doc said that I shouod be able to do all those activities with no restriction.

Sounds like a good Dr

I play tennis, run and golf. I agree that within 6 weeks you should be able to do everything without restriction EXCEPT take it easy with the golf swing.
If you had to design an activity to dislodge the PM leads it would be called a "golf swing". I was on the golf course after 6 weeks but intuitively felt that it was too early for a full swing, take it easy; you can chip, putt and drive with a half swing to your heart's content but I think you need another 2 weeks to play normally.
It is great to have a Dr with such a positive view of your recovery, some drs seem to want to wrap us in cotton wool for ridiculous periods. A PM is no big deal, enjoy life as soon as you can.
Best of luck
Ian

The research shall be set in the correct frame of reference by referring to the research results and methods of other researchers relevant to the candidates research; particularly important are references to the latest published results, not forgetting primary sources.

I like your doc. Having a pm should enable us to live life to the fullest, not hold us back. I've been paced almost 20 yrs now and my dr has never told me no to anything I've wanted to do.

That is good to hear IAN.I just got my pm 2 weeks ago also but my doc is a little more conservative. He wants me to wait 8 weeks. I'm one of the guys riding the mountain bike. I started riding the stationary bike after the first week. Started at 30 min. at moderate pace. Next week will be the 3rd week and I will increase to 40min and a more strenuous pace. I see the doc at week 4 and will ask him again how soon I can start riding the mountain bike.
Keep us posted on your progress, it helps me compare my condition, thanks.
