Hi Les. You have not told us of your age and what levels of activity you were previously used to.What do you call a 'workout' ?What was your pre-PM bpm max ?
Please get back to us.

mine is set for 40 at rest and 200 max . I pace 100 percent of the time. My settings allow me to do lots of cardio ! Really enjoy it ! I am 31 yrs old.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
Upper rate

Hi!
Depends a bit on your pacer model, but most pacers can be programmed as high as 180bpm, Medtronic's Adapta can even do 220bpm. As long as you don't have congestive heart failure or any other heart muscle issues, there is usually no reason to limit the upper rate to 120bpm. So, just ask your cardio to set it higher.
