Battery replacement/pregnant

Hi everyone,
So I timed my pregnancy poorly and I have to go in to have my pacemaker replaced 2 days from now... I'm 15 weeks pregnant. I preregistered today and just feeling a bit nervous. I'm 31, had my PM for 13 years with one battery replacement. This is my second. I have complete HB. The obstetrician says the anesthesia will not hurt the baby and all should be fine. My nerves went away a bit when I thought about all the little children who get very invasive surgeries every day... If they can do it, so can I. Hopefully once this is over, I can just enjoy my pregnancy... Anyway, just wanted to check in... My baby and I are gonna be ok right? Just a minor battery replacement?? Uhg... I hate surgery... Anyway hope ya'll are well!! I'm gonna keep praying for peace...

Hi! Kelsie, What a great mother you are already, putting little baby girl first. Do try to focus on taking care of you too because that way you are taking good care of both of you. Just be very cautious that anyone involved in your care, including any medications prescribed and/or administered , are all aware of your pregnancy. Let us hear from you. I will say a prayer for you and your precious baby girl. Hopeful Heart

it will be fine :)

Yes, it will be fine! Congratulations on your pregnancy! If your dr isn't worried, don't you be worried. You could always ask to do it with just a local, that's the very safest way to go. Me, I like to sleep through it. I've had 4 now and don't remember any of them, don't want to!!! If the ob, cardio and anesthesiologist all say it's ok for the baby, then trust them.

Thanks everyone :)

I'm assured that we will be fine tomorrow...thanks for all the input. Can't wait to get this over with so I can just be with my pregnancy and focus on that. I'm a baby's self when it comes to surgeries lol. But then I think of all the little children who get big surgeries every day. They're so strong!!! It's inspiring. I'll let everyone know how it goes :) thanks again!! Happy Easter!!!

Surgery Over!!

Surgery went well and is now over with!!! I'm in a lot of pain!! I forgot how much it hurts when the anesthetic wears off yikes!!! Not taking anything for pain. Doc said I can have Tylenol maybe ill try that... Baby is fine, they checked the babys heart rate before and after surgery with Dopler and baby is fine :)) glad it's over with. They almost gave me a little bigger of a pacemaker that lasts longer 10 years but doc didn't want to have to create more bleeding bay making a bigger pocket in my chest and have to radiate the area while I'm pregnant so he put the same one I just had in that lasts 6 years... Kinda sux but glad he was looking out for baby... Thanks everyone for all the support... Take care!!!

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
