Chest Pain and shortness of breath

I am 50 year old with history of blockages and leaking valves, I have had for mini storkes over the past year and one severe stroke while in the hospital. I had a two lead pace maker implanted and the leads had to be ran through the shoulder and the armpit do to crodic fatty tumors. Since July 17th 2012 when this was put in until now I have always felt the charge or ark of the pacemaker. For the past two days it has been much worse and I feel heart pain like when you going down in a roller coaster over ten times during the day, I also at times loose my balance when walking and flind myself clinching my chest with my hand. Couk a lead hook have dislarged. I called the doctor yesterday and they never called me back.

If you are having chest pain and can't reach your dr immediately, go to the ER. Better to go for nothing than miss something serious.

Not normal

I had serious problems a lot like yours and had to have another surgery to take care of it. But keep perspective. Is it 1 out of 10 or 5 out of 10 pain? Onesy pain is no big deal at this point. But 5 - 6 level pain should not be ignored. If you have that kind of pain and the Docrot blows you off, find another doctor.

You might want to click on my handle (the name in red) and read my old posts and comments. Everything is great now that they fixed the problem.

Best wishes

I saw a doctor

I have a doctor in the family who checked me out for the moment and they say I am not having a heart attack but she belives there is a problem. I thought that these little machines were supposed to give us life and energy. Everybody keeps telling me sit and rest and do not do anything like lifting, working or to much walking. Since yesterday I have had a few more episodes of syncope. It only last a few seconds but comes without notice or warning.

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
