Lead firing more than normal

I had a pacemaker put in when I was 9 for bradiacardia. I had a new PM put in three years ago soley because it had moved under my arm and was causing discomfort. I have only been using it 2% of the time. They left the original lead in there. I am now experiencing my PM firing more than normal. They are saying that it is possible the Lead will need to be replaced. I am just so frustrated right now due to the fact that it has only been 3 years since my last surgery. Could there be any other reason why it is going off more than usual?

just a guess - but that lead could be sitting on or near a certain nerve, hence you feel it and the doc is suggesting it be moved.

also - ask if the voltage can be turned down or any other setting to see if that improves or lessens the awful feeling you get.

like I said, I'm just guessing, but it might lead your doctor to try something with the settings before heading straight to surgery.

Hi! Can certainly understand your concern. If it were me, I would want a second opinion before another surgery. I would aiso want a resolution soon for both my health and sanity. I am sorry you are having so much trouble. Hopeful Heart

Thank you both for your support. I know everything will be fine. I have been dealing with this stuff for 22 years so surely this road bump won't stop me. :)
