Well,it's now been 9 days since I had my first pacemaker put in and I did talk with my cardiologist. She said I should be exercising 20 minutes every day. I said, "Every day?!" she said, "YES!" so, I started back this morning and I have felt wonderful, I MEAN WONDERFUL all day!
What about spirits/liquor? What have you experienced with that? Do you drink at all...how does it work for you all?

And way to go with the exercise!!!! Glad you are feeling so good, keep up the good work. I found that once I started exercising regularly, I started getting twitchy the days I took off. Endorphins are addictive.

Drinking alcohol has no affect on a pm. The underlying reason why you need the pm or meds you are on may be a reason to stay away from it, and excess is of course a bad idea, but if your only problem is fixed with the pm and you are not on meds, it's ok in moderation. There are studies that one drink a day, esp red wine, can be beneficial to the heart.

I've been having my usual glass of wine with my meal and an occasional extra drink on special occasions since getting my pacer in 2004. Pacer or not I just go easy on it.

My wife and I have weekly cocktails and I've been known to have a late night out with the boys (once only four days post replacement). Other than the normal hang over, you should be good so long as you know your limits.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.

I waited until I was completely off pain meds and then started with one small glass of wine to see how it would feel. I didnt have any issues with it.
