I marked and yes celebrated my 12 week PM implant surgery date today, going back to something I have gotten to love, spinning!
I was spining once a week, and working out the other 6 days doing elliptical prior to having my heart throw me a big ole wrench into my lifestyle and life in general.
I am so happy, actually estatic that I went back today, the instructor whom I work with and know well, was well, cautious to say the least....she kept asking me how I felt........guess she figured ok as long as I was upright on the bike and my legs were movin!
I did 20 miles, which Im happy with, didnt do what I used to (yet) as far as the gears went or the rpm's,but Im good with what I pulled off.....felt good the whole time.
Have nothing to prove, except that I am ready to move on,and get back into the groove I was in before, just being smart, and not being an over-achiever.
Feels good to accomplish this,as well as the daily workouts Im back into,a big thanks to all, especially Donr who has been so encouraging to me in the beginning....been a tough road, glad the ride's gotten smoother..........wow never imagined.

...that THIS is the same Laura from Ohio that we had to take the shovel away from because she was in the pit & digging it deeper?
Congrats, Laura - knew you could/would make it when you set your sights on the right target & ignored the trash.
Great to see you so upbeat & successful.

When you are really at it on the bike grab your throat and let out gasp!!! LOL
Now you know why my docs like me so much.
I'll bet if feel good to be at it again. Keep us posted on how it's going.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
I dont know about that!

Frank-I might give my friend/co-worker/instructor a heart attack(which would be bad) if I did that to her!
I have a good sense of humor, and sometimes it can be wicked........
I did however show the others in class that I am determined, and didnt give up,which is the way Im looking at it,not letting this alter my life(maybe just a wee bit).
Will say that this morning, after the back to class night,I am feeling the pain of muscles that havent been used in almost 3 months, and mostly the seat bones(like when I used to ride horses) which are reminding me of what I did last night.
The end result,It's all GOOD!
Will keep on pushin, hope this may encourage others who are new here to be as determined, and also be patient as I have been, why were here,to help others like us.
It can happen..........I am so THANKFUL!
