Getting very discouraged!

Hi all,

It has been a little while since I have posted but now I really don't know what to do. I had another ablation about 4 weeks ago( which was my 7th). Surgery lasted almost 8 hrs and the dr thought that he finally got everything. The reason for the surgery was my heart was over riding the pacer again at rates of 165. I did pretty good the first couple of weeks even though I felt exhausted and did not seem to bounce back very quick like I did on my other ablations.

My problems now is it seems to be coming back once again! I am having horrible palpatations and heart pounding with hr rates of 120-130, yesterday at work it got up to 154 and all I was doing was walking down the hall. I was on telemetry at the time so I was able to print out strips and it looked like a paced svt.

I had asked the dr before this last surgery if this would ever be fixed and he said since my first diagnosis was IST which is very hard to treat that he couldn't guarantee me anything but they would try their best. He said that IST can keep coming back but not as quick and often as mine has and defitnitly not at the high rates mine has been.

I live in the US and cannot get my hands on the ivabradine med that could possibly help. Has anyone else with IST on here ever had these issues or have any idea what I should do.

I haven't told me dr yet but I am scheduled to have a pocket revision on the 10th so I figured I would tell him then.

Any input would be great!

Thanks Holly

swelling of left arm

by CF-XDB - 2013-09-09 01:09:51

I am sure this topic has been discussed before but I am new to the site. My left arm and hand has swollen. This happened gradually about 4 months after the pacemaker implant. There is no discomfort or loss if strength. My arm just feels like it belongs to dough boy. I believe this condition has something to do with the pacemaker implant. can anyone who has experienced this comment.
