When I got my pacemaker my instructions said to report it if the heart went 5 points below the setting. Nothing about if it goes higher. Now it sometimes go 20 points below the setting for short periods and stays between 90 and 120 most of the time. Is this common. ot something to be concerned about.

Could be pacing inhibition. It's not common but it's definitely out there. That's if you're not using a monitor and you're seeing HR in the 40s for stretches of time instead of just a "flash" of 40 on the screen
call

Something sounds off, I'd call and ask to have it checked. Make a note of they date/time when you're counting it low, they can check the report to see what was going on.

Soon I will be getting my pacemaker checked. Thanks for all your help. I am much more concerned about the lower rate then the higher rate.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
20 points?

Do you mean it is 20 beats below the 60? So your heart rate is at 40? if thats the case there is something wrong.90-120 is pretty fast if you are inactive at the time you see this rate. You may need your sensitivity threshold adjusted on your Rate Response.
