Hello,
I am new to the forum as I had a PC implanted on Monday.
Trying to find out when I am cleared to resume working out if my kettle bell training will be a problem with the device.
I work out every other day with the bells alternated with aerobic.
Any help on this subject will be appreciated.

6-8 weeks

Drs vary on how long we need to take it easy- no heavy weights, no raising arm above shoulder level. 6-8 weeks is about average. If you are doing a vigorous workout, I'd give it the full 8 weeks just to be safe. You should be fine to do light aerobic now if you feel up to it, but clear it with your dr first.
Once you heal, it should not hold you back at all. There are some drs out there who are very conservative and put restrictions on heavy weights, esp using chest muscles, and pull ups. My dr disagrees with them, says once it's healed nothing will hurt it. I've been paced almost 20 yrs now, have trusted him and done whatever I want, so far no problems.
I don't do strict kettlebell workouts but I do kb as part of boot camp, which means we do kb, barbells, running, sand bags, running with sandbags lol ... you name it we probably do it because the workout changes every day.
Good luck and welcome to the board.
p.s. if you like kettlebells, check out crossfit! most of them offer a free introductory class. You'd be getting your weight and aerobic in all at once and probably in less time. And it's FUN! :)
Thanks for reply

Visited with the doctor for the 1st time yesterday after surgery one 9 days ago and was told ' 6 more weeks" then I can begin exercising using body/weight resistance again.
