Senate Bill S.31

My letter to the Austin American Statesman:

"I received a reply from Sen. Cornyn in regards to my inquiry concerning whether he supports or opposes S.31 (Medicare Price Negotiation Act of 2015). His reply was nothing
but political blather that blamed all ills on the current administration. He did not state his position on S.31 His inability to answer a simple yes or no question was not surprising
to me. I also wrote Sen. Cruz and I expect the same type of dance when (if ever) he replies. I'll share my findings with other seniors.

Thanks for The Info

The response you got does not surprise me at all. Neither of those politicians stands for legislation that is necessary to protect Social Security and Medicare. Seniors are being made the scapegoats for the current budget problems. The blanket campaign slogan to cut spending is irresponsibly applied and targeted toward senior citizens. Please continue to keep us informed. I absolutely will not vote for Cruz or Cornyn.

Unable or unwilling?

My sense is that Sen. Cornyn and his ilk are perfectly ABLE to answer your yes-or-no question; they are simply UNWILLING to do so.

I used to respect politicians as public servants. Alas! Those days are over for me.

The state or federal lawmakers who deserve my vote do not even fill one hand.

Thanks, Dave, for keeping us apprised.

is just more irritating divisive political blather. I'd rather not see it here, where we are trying to help folks deal with serious health concerns. Instead, if you want to make a positive contribution, why not explain in a non-partisan way what bill S31 is.

Creaky:

S.31 Medicare Price Negotiation Act of 2015 is pretty much self-explanitory. Allowing medicare to negotiate pricing with the different health insurers/ pharma, etc.much like the VA does. What part of that bill is objectionable to you? Bet you never heard of it 'til I brought it up here.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
