Heart rate increased

Hello fellow pacers
I just had my annual check up yesterday, in which context I raised the issue of poor circulation and concomitant issues such as chilblains and edema in one foot. I asked if increasing my beats per minute from 50 might help address these issues.
The doctor while doubtful, said it was worth a try and increased my bpm to 60.
Interestingly, the adjustment seemed to alleviate the edema ( but we shall see) and as it is still summer in Oz, it's too early to tell if chilblains may ease.
However, I did not sleep well at all last night and am a bit concerned that the increase in the heart rate may be an issue with sleep or whether my body will adjust to this higher heart rate over tine and sleep will return to normal.
Has anyone else had en experience with having their heart rate increased and if so whether sleep was an issue, or is it just me being overly anxious?

Hi Bernard I live in Queensland, I just want to make a comment about heart rate, I had my pacemaker fitted in October last year, and they set it at 60bpm during the night (10pm to 6am) and 70bpm for the day time hours, it seems to be working ok , I sleep ok and haven't had any problems. Rick

Not Scot free

We don't get out of this situation with heart disease and pacemakers Scott free. There's a price to be paid and it sometimes comes due when we least expect it.

Whenever they make an adjustment on my PM, I always have an adjustment period. It's a one-to-one relationship. They make the changes, I have to learn to adjust.

They had my heart rate set up to 60 bpm when I first got my PM. I wasn't getting that rate at night before the PM, so more oxygen to the brain - couldn't sleep. But I adjusted and have since started sleeping very well.

Hope you don't get the chilblains during winter.
