Take it easy

by Theknotguy - 2014-01-01 12:01:53

Take it easy until you get the muscles worked into the exercise. I had had swimming in high school. So when the spouse and I went snorkeling I was paddling over here, paddling over there, just having a grand time. The spouse ran out of air, got exhausted, and had to be towed back to the boat.

So take it easy and quit before you start to feel tired. As the muscles start to get stronger you'll be able to increase the time spent in the water. Can't think of a better way to get back into an exercise program.

Have a great time!

Build up to laps

by jimsactive - 2014-01-27 12:01:00

I am 65 and was very athletic but I had a PM put in on 7/5/13. Afterward I also had to go to physical therapy for my shoulder - no connection with PM. Yesterday 1/26/14 I just completed a one mile lap (66 laps) swim. Just build things back up slowly. You will be fine.
