Hands and leg pain

Hi all- I had lead extraction and PM removed and a new PM Boston Medtronic inserted on July 21. I have been experiencing numbness and tingling in my hands, legs and feet. At times it's quite painful. Has anyone experienced this with PM insertion? I'm still quite fatigued and am due to go back to work next week which I think is way too early but cardiologist seems to think a couple of weeks is all I need off. Any input on the numbness would be greatly appreciated.

This is not pacemaker related.
There may be circulation problems, but more likely this is either a chemical/medication type disturbance or a peripheral neuropathy - the causes of which are numerous.
You need a medical opinion.

Most circulation problems are worse in cold weather and usually have some sort of colour change to be seen whether it is red, white, or blue!

Thanks for the responses however all this started after my surgery, not before. It does sound like neuropathy but it would have been caused then by the lead and PM extraction and then implanting the new PM and leads. Hopefully it will pass after time. Anytime they cut into your body nerves are affected. Just hope it's not permanent!

I have been having this problem with numbness in my hands and feet also. It's not painful for me, but very numb at times. I wasn't sure if it was an issue of my heart not beating forcefully enough to get adequate blood flow to my hands and feet. I also am pretty thin, so I wasn't sure if it was a low body fat issue. A couple times when jogging my feet got pretty numb, which was disturbing. I have an accelerated junctional rhythm with retrograde conduction, which I think occurs during exercise sometimes. I haven't mentioned the hand/feet numbness to my cardiologist. Have you mentioned it to your doctor? I hope you feel well soon.
