...retired GOD!
Don't all those people know that you don't screw around w/ a CHIEF?
I remember all the definitions of rank in the Army, starting out w/ 2/Lt's. The list ended up w/ Col's, who talk to God, followed by Sgt/Maj's who ARE God. I recall back in the days before color TV when I was a 2/Lt. I treated the 1st Sgt & our battalion Sgt/Maj w/ the greatest respect. In return, they called me "Sonny"! However, no one ever told me about Platoon Sgts - I can recall being counseled by mine on an occasion or two when I did something stupid.
Never played golf while in Colo Spngs, but do know that you want to hit a few balls to find out how far they go for a given club. As I recall from watching golfers that it was significantly farther. My golfing experience was in NM at White Sands Missile Range. You did not look for balls in the rough - rattlesnakes - & you never stuck your hand into a cup to take out the ball - tarantulas.
I was an advisor in Viet Nam & got in a couple rounds. You always carried an extra club - we called it the "Carbine" or a .45 pistol. Kinda tough swinging w/ that hunk of iron strapped to your waist. Hazards there were cobras, Kraits, stray water buffaloes & kids on motor bikes running wild.
Good luck in Denver.
Don
Congratulations on winning...

...You must be a sandbagger!!
Is that a scratch score or a handicapped score?
I know some 80+ YO's here in Atlanta. They'd wipe out the younger set who played w/ them.
You are from San Diego - retired Navy, by any chance?

I think we are all too humble to dispense advice on club selection to anyone who can go round any golf course in 59 ! Use whatever club that appeals to you !
Congrats on your win !

Questions:
1. Yes it was a scratch golf score
58 is par for the course, I scored 59
2. Sandbaggar? NO
3. I am not in Denver yet, going to be this weekend. Any suggestions on club selections?
4. Retired Navy YES I AM a retired Chief
This score of course totally PO'd the rest of the group because I took the pot.
I consistently win when I play with my sons. They are never happy about it either. Especially my 45 year old step son who is very competitive. ha
Amen Life with a Pacemaker can indeed be SWEET!
