I received a pacemaker in Feb. 2011. In August, I fell out of bed and then started feeling bad. I had surgery in Nov. 2011 and the doctor found the pacemaker was flipping and the leads were getting wrapped around it. I started feeling bad again in February and had surgery again in March 2012 because one of the leads wasn't working. I think it became discodged. Does anyone go to a Chiropractor? I think maybe the pushing and tugging he does could be the cause of the problems. I have no idea what else could be causing the damage. Your advise would be appreciated. Jane

I have some scoliosis of the Lumbar & upper Thoracic spine. I have several vertebrae that get out of place frequently. I go to a chiro as frequently as twice a week sometimes.
Mine uses a little gizmo he calls an activator - a relative of an industrial staple gun. He places the business end where he wants to make an adjustment, squeezes the gizmo, which cocks a spring & finally the spring drives a plunger against the spot, sending a small shockwave into the spot. Works like a charm - no violence or gross manipulation. Before it went belly up, he taught at Life College in Marietta, GA.
He works on my upper thoracic spine as well as the lumber. No untoward effect.
Sure gives me relief!
Even if he/she manipulated you manually, seems they'd really have to turn you into a pretzel to muck up your wires like you describe.
Cheers.

Forgot to mention - my chiro is married to the head nurse of my Cardio. So, he is doing it w/ essentially the cardio's blessing.. MOF, I've mentioned it to him & he has had no comment about it.

Thanks for the update Angrysparrow, I'll stay tuned.
Sorry to hear about your chiropractor.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
Good!

Whick - That's a great question.
I'm afraid to go back to my chiropractor for this very reason.
I'm curious to hear back from Angrysparrow or anyone else with this question.
I received my implant 2/2012
