Does it move?

Hi there,

Can the pacers move? I've been noticing pain in the mornings for about 3 weeks and the other morning I noticed it was more "out" or recognisable and felafel than normal and then this morning it was more out towards my armpit. I simply pushed it back towards where it normally sits and all seems fine. Except, it almost feels like the area is bruised. Is this normal? Can it move? I've had it for about 4 years now, so it should be fine, but just wanted to check on what others have experienced.

Thanks!

Yes but it gets better

I had mine done last year on Feb 5 and experienced much of what you're describing for the first 8 months... did talk to my MD about it... ...he said though unusual ...it sometimes happens... he also said the only way to fix it was to open me up and do a new implant... which he preferred not to do (I totally agreed with that assessment) The pm box finally stabilized last October... a little closer to my armpit than when it was implanted... but the upside is that I am now pain free... and even a seatbelt over the incision site no longer bothers me at all.

A few additional thoughts

Truly appreciate the post after mine as I did forgot to mention that my doctor also told me to not move the pm box and let it settle on its own.

I also use gentle stretching exercises to relieve occasional muscle tension around the implant site...

I have found gentle reverse shoulder rolls are the most effective at relieving pm incision pain. To do said roll... lift shoulders up... move shoulders back... move shoulders down... then forward ...repeat in a very gentle circular motion for a few reps or until the tension eases...

I do both shoulders together to maintain body symmetry
