sss and feeling of heart racing

I have a pacemaker for Sick Sinus Syndrome. I get the feeling often of may heart racing. I will check my pulse and it will be at 92bpm. Im just wondering if that means my heart rate dropped so low that it caused the pacemaker to kick on. Does anyone experience this or know why im feeling this. My bpm is always at 92 when I have this feeling. I only notice this if im relaxing (sitting or laying down).

That's not usually the way pacing works, the pm is always on. It is programmed in fractions of a second, we just talk about it in beats per minute because it's easier to understand. If you are set to a minimum rate of 60 beats per minute, that's one beat per second. Every second the pm watches and waits for your heart to beat. It kicks in with a beat if your heart doesn't beat on its own. And again the next second, and so on.

It's possible your setting need tweaked. It has a feature called rate response, which senses activity and raises your rate for you as needed. It can take a few tries to get the sensitivity adjusted to fit your needs. The settings they start us off with are an educated guess. Call and ask to be checked. Make a note of what times this happens. They can interrogate the pm and see what is happening.
