After I am heal up after the placement of the crt-d, will I be able to go the pool to get my exercise, and will I have trouble with a rec center with the pacemaker, where I may not be to attend, because of the pacemaker? Any one have advice.

Swimming is fine!

I swim, go in the jaccuzzi, sauna and steam room. My motto is 'if you feel ok then stay in, if you dont, get out'. Be careful with some of the machines in the gym, I avoid the power plate and the body fat scales, not had any problems with anything else, but some do have magnets. I dont use the heart monitoring options on the machines.
Dont stretch your arm too much at first, I started off by swimming a bit lop sided, but now i thrash around in the pool doing backstroke.
Good luck.

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
Well..

Carol I'd say you still have to be careful for a few weeks about doing full range of motion with the arm on the pacemaker side. Your MD should have advised you about how long.
I am 2 weeks now and can use that arm just fine but will not do full range of motion with it until at least six weeks have passed.
I cannot see how a rec center would pose a risk to your pacer but if you are concerned go ahead and ask them.

Good luck.
