New pacemaker

Anyone heard of the new pacemaker that's the size of an antibiotic? Seemingly inserted in a patient in the UK and there are no leads as it fits right into the heart.

There are several of them out there. They are just starting to use them in patients, it's exciting technology. It's inserted via catheter. Downsides are it's only single chamber pacing (most of us have dual lead), it can't be used if you are dependent and it can't be used if you have existing traditional leads.

St Judes is called the Nanostim. Medtronics has one also. If you google it, there are lots of articles about how it works and early successes.

Thanks

Thanks for the information. Well, that's me not able to have one of them.
