Your heart beats differently with a pacemaker than it did on it's own (usually a lot better though) so there is a normel "break in" period where your heart and body are adjusting to your new energizer bunny.

There's another guy on this site that talks about zips and zings in the first montht or so that went away. Notice thought that zips and zings come and go quite quickly. DO NOT TOLERATE A CONSTANT LEVEL 5 CHEST PAIN. Go to the ER for that, and if they tell you nothing is wrong, go to another ER and another doctor.

But that's just my opinion. Best wishes

Heart ache

Hi Gerry:
I am a female, aged 56, and sometimes I get sort of an achy feeling in my heart, too. Nothing that lasts or is sharp or anything. Just every once in a while. I saw a show once about a man who had scar tissue on his heart that caused angina (pain in the heart). They treated it with don't ask me what because I forget, but it went away. He couldn't even walk to the mailbox it hurt so bad. My docs told me when I went in for my ICD that I might have had a stroke or mild heart attack and didn't know it because it looked like I had some scar tissue. So when my heart hurts, I figure it's the scar tissue. But if it doesn't go away, I'd talk to my doctor ASAP.
Good luck,
Cheryl B.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
