horseback riding

Thanks to all that responded to my post - I have since talked with two doctors (one a cardiologist and the other family practice) both said to be careful and not take any chances and you should be fine.

Typical doc. Have you ever noticed how they drive their sports cars.

I don't know if it is still true, but members of the Flying Physician Pilots Association used to have the second highest accident rate with Flying Ministers the highest.

Riding

I also am a rider. Just had a second pacemaker. I rode and fox hunted after the first one. My surgeon is a fox hunter. This time he said not to go near my horse for 3 months! I had a biventrical/defibb implanted & feel it may be more delicate in healing. It sure is larger! I am anxiously waiting for March & riding again! Getting on a horse is taking a chance but it is a sport to love.

Go ride for me

my pacer is up on my chest

I didn't know there was an option to have it placed in my armpit. My initial placement was very painful and I had to have it moved under the muscle, it has made a huge difference. My pacer and the knob of my shoulder pinched a nerve everytime I extended my arm to work. Do you people with armpit placement have pictures of how this appears? I have heard of the pacers migrating to the armpit. I am assuming that we all have the same basic landmarks on our bodies why is there so much difference in the comfort of placement? Anyone have an answer for me?
Best always,

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
