Upper body work-outs - what's OK?

I used to do gym work. I've just had a pm fitted: surgeon says "no upper body exercise for 2 months, and then take care". My problem: I have a lower body neuropathy, so can just about walk but can get no decent work-rate from my legs so must focus on upper body. I feel stuffed!
What gym exercises - arm ergo, bench work, free weight work, etc.- can be done without risking movement of the leads (which is apparently the risk)?
Any advice/experience out there?
Seasons greetings to all!

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
Do you have access to a pool?

After your incision heals completely, see if you can get in the pool. I do it every day I can & helps with everything, the water has resistance that helps even just to walk. A PT pool may be more comfortabel if heated (depends on your climate too). Your doc probab;y would write an order for PT so can use the pool at a PT place.
Good luck with the exercise routine,
