golf

i've done a search on this site and the recommendations on when I could resume golf range from 24 hours to 6 months. My doctor who I deem somewhat liberal told me 6 weeks should be fine. He also told me it would have been okay to go on a 1 week cruise after 7 days. I cancelled the cruise. I don't want to do anything that would cause lead problems.
Any input will be appreciated.

Hi wc177,

You are sooooooo right when it comes to answers from doctors, they vary so very very much.

I guess what I would do is take the average along with how I felt and I'd be extra careful, which we should do anyways because who would want to go thru another surgery so soon???

I'm sorry you cancelled your cruise, but I would think that after 3 months of surgery you should be good to go. Personally, I wouldn't go anywheres until I had my first interrogation.

There are a lot of factors to take into consideration whether it is going back to work or on a vacation after just having surgery.

I do hope you can reschedule your cruise!!!!!

Take care,
Pookie

resuming golf

My doctor said 6 weeks, but here's what I did: After 2 weeks, I went out with the putter a few times and worked on that. After 5 weeks, I got tired of putting and started chipping. Week 6 I took a few easy swings on the driving range with short irons. I didn't take a full swing until after week 8 when I felt comfortable. Now I'm a pretty crappy golfer, but after all that practice, I felt like my whole game improved when I was back. My advice is to ease into it when you feel ready. One year later though I'm back to my crappy self but having fun. As far as the cruise, they are a drag so good thing you canceled it.

U guys ever have lead movement or erosion from excessive golfing or heard of that?
