I had the surgery 14th October 2011 and did not know what to expect. 3 days later and every day the pain is lessened, the wound looks less angry. My advice would be keep taking it easy don't strain your self. The yawning, sneezing and coughing still pulls. Don't get dressed if you don't have to and my doctor told me to tell my other half that I need a take away curry everynight followed by a relaxing masage!! hee hee.
No seriously, other advice would be look at your wound in hospital when the nurses say it is looking good as i did not!!! I then had nothing to compare it to when i did look at it and was shocked at the sight!!!
I am still getting moments of tightness over the machine but it is not worrying and it eases. And, I have to remember it is only 3 days since my op. Will keep you informed. x

You know you're wired when...
Your ICD has a better memory than you.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
Yell back at it

The way to deal with an angry wound. 3 whole days is plenty of time to get out and start walking. Just be sure to get dressed.
Your a lot young that I am. By three days I was walking several miles/day.
On the other hand, maybe I made a mistake. I never thought of a massage every night. Dang!
LOL
