Hi all i an going to hairdresser in a few days time to get highlights. I am 9 days post implant now and just slightly concerned that they're could be things at the hairdressers that could interfere with my pacemaker does anyone have advice on wether foils and high powered hairdryers are safe? thank you

Nothing at all! I went to mine to get her to wash my hair the first few weeks since I was struggling with not being able to raise the left arm.
The only place I go that has something even worth thinking about is the dentist, the ultrasonic cleaning thing. They still use it on me but they're careful to run the cable in a big circle around me.

my golden rule is 'if anything makes you feel a bit wierd then just move away'. It's been rare for me but the things that have done it have been, the Roman Baths at Bath - their radiosystem. My sons very very powerful speakers in his sports car. Just once - powerful speakers at a Deep Purple concert. Think thats about it. Tried to tell my husband he made me feel wierd and hoped he might move into the other bedroom! lol, it didnt work. I still have to put up with his cold feet!

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.

& she uses the hand held dryer w/o any affect on me or my PM, I can't see how this would hurt. Are you concerned about the large dryers you put your head in? I am sure you will get some other answers her but I doubt you have anything to worry about. I am pretty sure we would have heard about problems on here if there were any prioblems. I usually go get my hair washed the 1st week after my PM due to the limitations on showers & lifting the left arm. Hoeo this helps. I guess you should call your doctor &/or ypur tech for a definite answer. Hope your new do comes out great.
