hi all!
emailed cardiologist yesterday as i was still having a lot of pain and thought i was still very swollen he rang me early this morning and called me in and explained that a lot of the swelling i thought was there was actually the size of my pacemaker at 12cm! its large!
my other concern had been i have been getting electric shock type symptoms but he said it was nothing really to worry about and just something to do with the battery; a way to stop it would be to put a smaller batter in with a different pacemaker which would need to be changed every five years! i was definately not up for another operation after the pain of the last four weeks! thanks but no thanks!
i also got my i.d. card through the post which reminded me i have the new generation pacemaker known as Surescan, compatible with MRI, didnt know if this was familiar to anyone else?
spent the weekend at the IronMan 70.3 challenge in Galway which was a real inspiration and something i would love to inspire to do. bit down after the death of my 1 year old pup yesterday but hoping from here onwards things can only go up!

MRI compatable PM. Not sure of other brands rhat have MRI compatable PMs. Mine is fairly large too, at least I think it is. I am 61 but still muscukar from a lifetime of training. I have pretty big pectoral muscles so cutting a "pocket" in me was pretty easy I think? Despite that if you look closely you can still see it,
On smaller frame men or smaller women my PM would be noticeable but a small price to pay for peace of mind!
I can't comment of the electrical shocks you have been receiving-- perhaps others will comment.
use the search function-- upper right on the page-- type in shocks-- will lead you to other threads/comments on these topics.
Good luck
this is a fantastic forum!!!
