pain at ck up

Well I went for my first check up today. I found the tech. to be very vague in explaining what was going on. She said that everything was fine. But I noticed that when she turned my pm down that my heart rate dropped to 48 but she told the doc that it was holding in the 50's. ???? then when she raised the heart rate at 80 I was in terrible pain in the shoulder and felt a pulsating sensation in my throat. She said that she don't know why it happened and that she's never had it happen before. The doc. also said he couldn't explain why this happened. He also suggested that we reduce the pm back to 50 but I declined.I am new to all of this and still in the learning process. Not sure if this just me being overconcerned but I was not comfortable with my visit at all. I have a st. judes dual chamber implanted in Aug. for heart block. Please if anyone has any suggestion I would love to hear about it. Oh I also have a mechanical heart valve 8 yrs ago and 2 stents. Is the pain normal at 80 bpm.

I was warned the pulsing would happen

At the first interrogation I was warned that when they changed the setting I would feel the change as pulsing in my throat and might make me want to cough. i had no pain what so ever though so I don't know what that is about. Today is the anniversary of getting my pacer. The difference that made wa making me not feel like i was dying everyday... I am not celebrating this day, I am celebrating February 4, the day I got my pacer moved under the muscle so I could feel strong and painfree (from the pacer anyway)Don't get me wrong if I had fallen out in front of a car due to bradycardia I wouldn't be celebrating at all but I have always been of the opinion that just being alive is not liveing it is existing... I existed from Sept 27 until Feb 4. then I started living again, so that is when I will celebrate. This is my mini anniversary that got me to my big one.
Best,

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
