Heart pain after PM paces me- OUCH

Hi All,

Sincerly hope everyone on here is coping and doing well with their PM's. This group has been a life-line for me.

My issue that I wanted to ask you all about is if you have this happen to you.

I had my PM inserted in Oct 2010. Lots of issues with the surgery, blah blah.... (won't bore you with the details here)
But now I find when I am being paced, once the PM stops pacing I get these serious heart pains/cramping feeling and it is almost rhythmic. It goes on for 1-4 minutes after and it bloody hurts. Enough that I want to wrap both arms around my chest and I just say OOOWWWWCH.

Does anyone else have this? What is it? I have been told I might need my lead replaced since it may have distanced itself from its position. Is that pain the electric pulse from the PM?

Any comments would be appreciated.

a bientot
Merci

My PM was inserted 6 weeks ago and I'm 100% paced/dependent. I have some very sharp pains in the center & left side of my chest quite frequently. I'm not sure what it is, but have always assumed it's just part of the healing process.

Mine too are almost rhythmic, just like you say, but don't follow my heartbeat. I also notice the same pain close to my PM site, almost like a shock going from the PM to the heart (if that's possible.) Does that sound like what you're experiencing?

I can't figure out any connection to when the pain hits. Sometimes I'm at home, and sometimes I'm out and about. Mine too last anywhere from 1-5 minutes, and will continue off and on for about 30 minutes to an hour. After that, it may not happen for a day or so. Even when it's happening, I feel just fine other than the sharp pains.

I have an appointment with my EP doc & PM tech on Tuesday & Wednesday, so I'll bring it up to see what they think it could be. Again, I'm assumimng it's part of the healing process since mine is still pretty new.

Hopefully, someone else will post a response and let you know if they know what it could be.

Best of luck
