Ihe last 4 weeks I got Medtronic pacemaker and last week I got
a ablation. My concerns are1. I never had hypertension before all this and now my readings are all over the place. and usually they are high. Abover 140/90. Pulse is stable at 84ish. I am still having problems having shortness of breath. I will not see the Dr. for another 3 to 4 weeks.
Is this a normal reaction to the implants. I am now on 10 mg. of Zestril.
Will all of this pass. Has anyone out there been through a similar situation. Before I got A Fib. I was very healthy. Gene

blood pressure

When my daughter got her pm her blood pressure also went up and she got really sick. They still don't know why or what happened. Her o2 levels dropped to 72%. We took her to the ER and after being there for 2 days she was well enough to come home and 3 years later hasn't had any complications. I'm also a MA and if u are having shortness of breath and you can't get into your doctors office I would at least go to an urgent care. Good luck!

Thank you both for your comments. I appreciate them and they give me more confidence. to the MA, my shortness of breath has been discussed with my R.N. Practioner in the Cath Lab. It isn't so much shortness as it is the ability to take a deep breath. Especially after and heavy meal.
To: Brady Bunch. T Y. I too have to lose about 25 lbs. I have been in sports all my life , and I really miss my workouts. I too, need a knee replacemant but decided against. I just can't play racquetbal 3 times a week anymore. But, I am a lot older than you. So, I have accepted it. thank you all.
I WILL GET BACK TO CLOSE TO NORMAL. ATTIUDE.

Today I explained everything to my doctor, he set my lower rate back to 80 and I felt an immediate improvement.
Blood Pressure went up too...

My blood pressure also went up after my pacer implant but I have put it towards less exercise and more inactivity right after the surgery and some associate weight gain. Seems to be coming down again with a combination of meds and exercise, and once I drop another 10 lbs and go through my next round or ortho surgery (long story involving a bike and an SUV... I was not driving the SUV)
