Hi! I'm a Cardiac Tech in NJ looking for some info on where everyone gets there follow ups done. Do you do them transtelephonically? ( that little box with the bracelets and magnet?) I've been checking them for 21 yrs and I'm looking to learn more. I'd really like to learn how to program. Any info will help!

Phone checks

I have a Medtronic ADDRL1. Currently I go in for office checks yearly and a Carelink phone check every 3 months. The office checks are done by the Medtronic rep.
We are in a small town in the Calif desert. The local hospital has a Rural Medicine Dept with a cardiologist on staff who does the implants and overseas the pacemaker clinics.

I should've been more clear. I'm actually looking to see with what company you do your telephone pacemaker checks with.

I'm using the Merlin @ home thru St Jude CRT-D. I'm told it reads and phones out every night at around 2 am.

I got mine every three months at the Cardiologists office. Someone from the pacemaker company, Boston Scientific comes there, puts that cirlce reader over my pm reads it, then sends me to see the Cardio guy. Now I go every 6 months. Had my PM for 11 months.
No problems at all!!! I am happy to say.

I wouldn't be here if it were not for this amazing technology inside of me.

I get mine done at the Pacemaker Center at Newark Beth Israel. I usually call every three months and go every 6 months (although I'm really bad about going).
The clinic Director is Victor Parsonnet and the Asst Director is Mark Roelke although Victor is semi-retired now.
Maybe I'll see you there someday! :) I've been going for nearly 30 years now.
