Left Arm Agony

I had my pacemaker put in 3 days ago and woke up with excruciating left arm pain. The back of the shoulder and the bicep throb with pain. The lower arm is numb, as is the thumb and next two fingers. When I move the arm pain shoots down to the tingling fingers. I can't sleep, and I doubt this is normal. The pain level has not abated at all. I'm taking 800 mg ibuprofen 4 times a day. Has anyone else experienced this , and what do you suggest I do about it? HELP! Thanks............

Call your dr, if you don't get a call back quickly, go to the ER. It sounds like a nerve but don't take chances, agony is not normal.

Could be DVT

Could be a blood clot. This can happen after a pacemaker implant. Call your doctor, you need an ultrasound to rule out a DVT.

I truly hope you are at the ER instead of reading my post, but just in case you are still at home on your computer --- PLEASE take the above advice very seriously and get your butt to the ER immediately!!!!!!!!

...and please let us know how you make out after.

wishing you the best,
Pookie
