You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.

It shouldn't, so long as you are a couple feet from it. And it makes difference whether you are below, above or to the side of the antenna. That signal leaves that antenna in all directions, (think of the shape of a ball) so your location in relation to that antenna tip would make no difference. I can tell you what to look for if it should affect your PM. You will suddenly and I do mean suddenly, notice that your have an irregular heart beat. Should it ever happen to you for any reason just step a few feet away from the source of the interference and your heart beat will return to normal in a few seconds. There will be no harm to your heart or the PM.
I got stopped in the security gate of a Walmart one day while they searched the packages of the person in front of me and the signal from that gate set mine off. Fortunately for me I realized what must be going on and stepped back about three steps and things returned to normal.
Good luck,
