Removal

Hi,

I had complete removal of PM and leads. Had no problems at all however the PM had only been in for 10 months. According to my EP, it is more difficult to remove leads that have been in for many years due to the increased scarring that occurs over time. They have a device that slips over the lead and uses a laser to cut the scarring.

Recovery was a piece of cake; I felt very good the next day.

Good luck-

....................have your leads been in ??. I had my whole kit removed 14th Jan, this year. Leads had been in 26 months...absolutely no problem.

I had a whole new set-up in my RH shoulder during the same procedure , all done under general anaesthetic.

General advice seems to be..check out that your surgeon is well experienced in the business of lead removal.

Best wishes

Lead Extraction

At least three people have had them for leads that were over two yrs old. Cannot recall who they are, but they have not posted in a while.

Use the search function, top right corner. Search on "Lead extraction" They should turn up.

One is a woman here in the Atlanta, Georgia area & the second is a woman in Texas. Cannot recall the third.

There is a man in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska who was writing about having it done, but never heard whether or not he went through w/ it.

If all else fails & Tracey, the moderator does not read this & chime in, try sending her a Pvt Msg - she may recall more specifics than I.

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
