Been having a ruff time the last few days with fluid build up. I had put on 12 lbs in three days. I had to go in and get some Lasix shots yesterday and that took off 6 lbs. I'm very tired, but hanging in there.
This cold weather here has been taking a toll on me too! The good thing is that it should warm up to the low 60's today. We still have a ton of ice on the ground. That is something we don't see here to often. LOL Thank God for that.
How in the world do you people put up with the cold weather up north? I like cool weather, not this cold stuff we been getting.

Northern survival.....

First,I also hope your fluid lessens, sorry to hear of the amount,Im sure it is very uncomfortable and worrysome.
In Ohio,it was horrible earlier in the week, now today,it is in the low 30's,which feels springlike in comparison, seriously!
I survive by being somewhat bad in my eating habits, blame it all on the weather! You know,a little extra to stay warm right?
Staying busy indoors, doing in house projects, painting, cleaning out closets, that type of stuff.
Also knowing this is temporary helps, and it will get better, makes me really appreciate the nicer weather, remembering how long it takes to mow grass, trim, weed and garden, this is time off in my book.
Happy we are equipped for snow removal here, unlike our southern friends.

So sorry to hear you are struggling! Your strength and positive attitude is to be admired. Will continue to pray for your miracle.
I've turned into a total wimp in the 20+ years I've been in FL. A friend who is a runner up north laughed hysterically when I let it slip I pulled out my fleece headband to run the day it got down to 45. I used to think I'd like to go back home (MD/PA) but maybe I should stay right where I am.
Sorry

To hear you are things are rough. The cold is harder if you are not used to it. Hope things get better for you.

I'm a total whimp in hot weather, took my dog for her walk and it was 3 below at 4 this afternoon. In the summer when it gets to be 90, she doesn't get her walk until after dark. Of course she doesn't care as long as I get her out everyday. It's all in what we get used to, I grew up in the mountains of northern Montana. Knew a couple from Houma La. in my youth, they could never understand why anyone would live anywhere but southern La. Enjoy your 60s, and watch the ice melt, it will be in the 60s here in late May or June sometime, we usually have snow in the woods till late May. Always watch for your posts Paul, they always make me feel better, a little more hopeful. Please keep taking care of yourself, wife, family, and dogs. I'll keep the prayers coming. Jean

Sorry to hear things aren't going so good for you. Hope they find the reason for the fluid build up. Please keep the positive attitude.
Being in a more northern state, I wonder how you survive the heat! I was in Charleston, S.C. during the summer. Temp was a balmy 96 degrees with humidity at 110 percent. Then in Corpus Christy, TX. where it was a balmy 105 degrees with humidity at 110 percent. Thought I was going to die! Of course, they told me the humidity wasn't 110 percent and I should be there when it really gets hot. I'll take a -6 any day to that heat and humidity.
I've had the argument about living in hot and cold areas. Have given up and tell people they need to be born here/there and grow up in the conditions. It's just simpler that way.
Corresponded with a guy out in San Diego. He got a big kick asking me about the water bottles in my car. I'd leave 1/2 liter bottles in my car overnight. Could tell how cold it was by how much ice was in the bottle. Of course at -6 the bottle would be frozen solid and it would have a bell like ring if you tapped it on something.
Hope things get better for you soon!
