Issues with running?

I have a pacemaker with a battery life that is dwindling quickly --any suggestions on heart rate monitor watches for use while running. Still working, but I have had previous ones' die without warning and heartrate dropped into upper 20's.....which was more than a little scary. Thx!

try before you buy

Some members here have had luck with various monitors, but most of us can't use them. They either pick up the pm spikes in addition to the beats so the count is too high, or (in my case) the pm interferes with the monitor and it gives a 0 reading.

I'd think you won't really need a monitor to tell you if you've dipped to the 20's lol, it should be pretty obvious. Are you in ERI (elective replacement) yet? That's usually good for 3 months, then you have about 3 months of EOL (end of life) where it still works but with minimal function. EOL doesn't feel good, but it won't let you get as low as 20. I've had 4 replacements and never gone past ERI, each time I've had it replaced before it got to EOL so I never felt a difference.

Sportline S7

I recently bought a Sportline S7. It works without the chest strap (one reason I bought it) It was only $30 at Wal-Mart. I wear it at the gym and during the day as well. The readings match my home BP cuff monitor and the equipment monitors at the gym, so I'm assuming its accurate. Only thing I would rate it low on is its ability to give HR reading every time. My skin is very dry and I have to moisten my finger tip to get a reading and that doesn't always work. Still, you get what you pay for I guess.

You know you're wired when...

You play MP3 files on your pacer.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
