What do you do?

Hi to all,
Just wondering, what do you do? My recent echo showed enlarged atrium and two valves with small leaks. I am 100% paced in both my atrium and ventricle. This is all new since Dec. 2011. I have 2 years left on my PM and my doctor said that since my ventricles are not working on their own, he will have to put in a temporary PM in order to update my permanent one. I am told not to get excited or upset and just do what I can. It is hard not to get excited about life and the people I love.
Is there something I need to be doing to keep my heart as intact as possible? Being retired makes it easier to go at my own pace, but my spirit still feels like "25" and my body nor heart can keep up with that,
Thank you for your caring.

Take good care of yourself

HI Brightstar,
I completely agree with the comments of Cabg Patch. You should be doing the same things anyone does to take care of your heart- Regular, steady walking and other low key regular exercise, and eat a heart healthy diet.

In addition I would take an Omega 3 Carlson (fish oil) pill. I say Carlson because the other brands give me feedback. Also I think one of the best heart supplements is Hawthorne. Take 3 standardized pills (I use Nature's way) 2 to 3 times a day. I'd do more for the first 6 months and then go to 6 a day. It's a heart tonic and really helps a lot. Do you take ubiquinone too? That's a supplement that helps oxygenate the blood.
These things will help you live longer.
Good luck!
M'Liz
