I'm home...successful first implant pacer!

I wanted to shout out a thank you...many of you have posted things that I have read over the past months that has given me encouragement and peace over this entire process.

My surgery was Tue am...I am feeling GREAT...pacing 0% in the atria and 99-100% in the ventrical. Boston scientific (aka Thumper, as my kids helped me name it), with St Jude leads...set on a low of 30, but not kicking in - merely completing the "circuitry" has upped my rate by 30 BPM from 45 ish to 68-70.

You all are so wonderful to help so many others with questions and concerns...I am grateful to have found this resource of intelligent and compassionate people.

Thanks, again...and to all those others reading this...trying to make this decision for themselves or reassure themselves...you've found a great place here - and hindsight, this was the best decision I've made besides marrying my husband and having three kiddos!

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
