Why the chestpains?

I started exercising more.. so I had real bad chestpain. This symtoms is usually related to my addison's so I had my potasium levels checked. Potasium was 6.5. So this new worry came to mind, what happens to the pacemaker in a addison's crisis. I thought this PM will beat through anything even death. Should I be worried that it damage the pm or damage my heart. I am a diabetic type 1 as well, keeping everything in balance is so difficult.

Addisons and pacer

The addison shouldn't have any adverse effect on your pacer. However, it can't correct the addison's either. All the pacer can do is attempt to correct an erratic heart beat. Since keeping your self balanced both with the addison's and the diabetes I would talk to the doc about what needs to be adjusted with more exercise.

Another source of chest pain during exercise can be GERD. It's one that I'm familiar with.

And finally the pacermaker will keep sending out electrical impulsed to the heart even if the person has died, but the heart won't respond.

hope this helps and best wishes,

frank

That's what happened to me....!!!

I decided to start walking our puppy, for 2 reasons - he has to pee (ha ha ha) and I need to get back in shape, although I've never exercised a day in my 48 yrs of life.

The first couple of months walking - I would experience chest pain, then I realized it was my GERD, so now I'm on Zantac and Prevacid and I don't get that awful chest feeling while walking...and sometimes running with Maxx.

Something so simple.

Good luck.
