pings!

I have a Medtronic dual lead Pacemaker, implanted 9/10/10 and am recuperating well. From the beginning, I have felt 'pings' in the pacemaker area every time I sit at my granite kitchen counter. Is it possible that there is magnetism given off from granite? ( the nurses and doctor I have spoken to about it say that it is normal nerve reconnection happening- but every time I sit at that counter and nowhere else????

Hello Estherr,

I have learned the hard way to never say what a pacemaker can or cannot do or how it may be affected by things in our daily lives. As you know, I’m sure, an electromagnetic field (EMF) can affect our pacemaker and that brings us to the next paragraph which is from my little box of oddities and pacemakers.

“You can’t know for sure where these EMF emissions fields are and how strong they are unless you measure them with an EMF meter. For example, some granite countertops are known to emit EMF.”

I’m not saying that the granite counter top is the cause of what you are feeling, but I’ll not say it is not either.
