Hi Everyone,
I just got a pacemaker 8-26-10, so far I am doing good. My heart rate had got down to 30 beats min.I am glad I found this site because I don't personally know anyone with a pacemaker. I am sixty-four years old. It is great to hear about others and what they are feeling. I have started walking 30 min. a day now, I do feel tired, but maybe this will get better.

Doing the right thing

Getting active is the best thing you can do. I'm 80 yrs and am very active. Hiking, Jeeping, etc. are part of my life. I've had my pacer since 2004.
I know what you mean about HR down to 30. Mine suddenly dropped to 40 and before I got the pacer a couple of days later it was down to 26. Now it's back to its normal range.

Hello Willowrose
Welcome to the site. I got my PM last May at age 58, after a syncope. During my first night in hospital, before the operation, my HR went down to 31. The staff on duty was not happy.
I wouldn't be too concerned about feeling tired. Everyone recovers at his or her own pace. My own recovery went well and I was eager to resume my activities within a few days.
I'm glad to read that you are back exercising. Just pay attention to the trend. If you feel yourself getting stronger, that's great. If you feel more tired, check with your doctor.
Best regards and good luck

Hello and welcome! Great to hear you are walking and getting some exercise. I can relate to being tired. I also felt tired the first few weeks after my surgery. Hope your energy builds back up soon. I am 41 and like you do not know anyone with a PM. You found a great site for information and support. Welcome to the group!
