Do you have any

ideas on how to get over a start of a cold before christmas? Although it could be allergies with this crazy weather. We had thunderstorms this morning. It was in the 50s where it is usually in 20- 30s.

Have you ever tried Zicam? It doesn't have any known drug interactions, so anyone can use it. I really think this stuff works!!!! It's the way zinc works to keep the cold from coming on...you can read about it on webmd.com

It says on the leaflet check before use if you are pregnang or breast feeding, you have nose, ear or throat sensitivities or you are susceptible to nose bleeds. You could always ask the Pharmacist

Colds...

Cold season....got to love it! I know when I get a cold it hits me like a ton of bricks! My Doctor has told me to stay away from those remedies offered - (ie - Nero Citron) as it will probably make me feel alot worse. I tried it once, and all I did was sleep for like 15 hours straight.... So, now I just suffer it out, take it easy and rest.

Keep smiling all & Merry Christmas!

Vitamin C 2000 mg/Airborne

by The Bunny - 2007-12-23 07:12:56

Ever since my dr. told me 2-3 years ago to take Vitamin C I haven't been sick with a cold since...he said to boost to 2000 mg a day when you begin to get a cold. I buy the EmergenC, you can get at any discount/pharmacy store. It comes in packets of 1000 mg and you add them to water. Drink it down 2x a day. in fact, when my daughter (6) begins to get sick, I have a drink a bit of mine and she doesn't get sick either. Also, Airborne is a great source to boost your immune system. I take it when I'm feeling run down. It works! Best to you!

Thank you but

I haven't came across that one yet. Is it ok for people with heart problems?

Good luck on your implant in January. I had mine since Jan.16 01.

Hi there Karen

I am on this site as I am about to have a Pacemaker fitted, (the 28 January)

I am not sure if you can get 'First Defence Nasal Spray' in Ohio, but I tried this a week ago when I thought I was going in for a cold, runny nose, sore throat etc, and after spraying about three times during the day the cold disappeared. It is made by Vicks. It worked for me anyway.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
