Update on daughter

Hi all
2 years after her symptoms started, my daughter finally saw our GP on Monday about them. She asked me to go with her, which I did. Our GP is lovely, a really good Dr.

She told him about her blackout, now daily palpitations (fast palps), the exhaustion she feels when she gets the palpitations.
At times the palpitations last for hours.

For those on here who don't know me, I have had 3 arrhythmias, 3 ablations & have a PM.

Our GP has arranged for our daughter to have an ECG and a week long Holter monitor, plus lots of blood tests. Once he has got all the results back, he will decide what the next step is.

I told him I had discussed both my son & daughter with my EP last year & that my EP would be happy to see them in his inherited arrhythmia clinic but they would need to be referred by our GP. Our GP said that would be fine, depending on what the results show.

Our GP has asked me to return with my daughter once all the results are back & we can discuss the next step together.

Our daughter is 23.

Would you believe, her boyfriend who she has been dating for a year, he has an inherited arrhythmia! I only found that out last week. He has inherited it from his mum & all the children have it.

Our son still refuses to see our GP for his episodes of slow heart rate and hubby is still refusing to see our GP for his irregular rhythm.

Thankfully our daughter has taken the first steps to getting a diagnosis.

Best wishes
Janey

Men!

What is it about them that makes them put their heads in the sand?! Kudos to you and your daughter. It's always a good feeling to have a thorough dr you like and trust. Good luck to your daughter.

Janey...Regarding the men in your family

A few years ago, my Husband needed some very necessary tests. He didn't want to go so after some lengthy discussions, he told me he would have the test if I took the same test. The cost was out of pocket, not covered by insurance but was a reasonable price and not a problem for an ICD/ PM so I agreed.

Since then, he keeps up with his Doctors appts. and referrals, even more so than I do.

Another thought: I'm sure he wants you to keep your Doctors appts. so how would he feel if you told him you were not going to keep yours? Just a thought.

Good luck to all of you,

Grateful Heart

Women !

What is it about them that makes them generalise about all men ??

Janey ; next time they ask you " What would you like for your birthday or for Xmas ? " Tell them that you only want ONE PRESENT and that is to see them make a Dr appointment ! Refuse all other presents !

It would mean you missing out on that diamond necklace for another year but I'm sure you'd be happy with that ,( or would you ? What is it about women that makes them want diamonds ? )

Seriously though, glad to hear that your daughter is going down the medical route.
